About Me

My Story

I was born in South Wales, 1970. At a young age, my father became a farmer and we relocated to England where my interest in the countryside and animals began.

During my career, I developed an interest in computing and began working at IBM in a marketing department. Over the years, my interest in design and technology expanded. In 2010, I bought my first digital camera, a Sony A230 with a kit lens and then my interest in photography developed.

I've invested in education, studying through beginner, intermediate and advanced courses to expand my photographic knowledge. I'm a keen amateur photographer and my collection of cameras, lenses and skills has improved over the years.

I have stuck really with Sony Cameras, expanding as and when I could. Now, my main camera is a Sony A7R V, Sony FE 200-600mm G OSS Lens, Sony 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens and Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 lens. I have a variety of older A-Mount and M42 lenses too, including Vivitar/Sony Macros.

My main areas of interest are being outdoors. So, this leads me to landscapes, wildlife and particularly birds.

I travel around Wales, visiting wildlife reserves, public parks and occassionally, zoos and bird sanctuaries to capture images.

In the past, I've also done some portraiture, and wedding photographs too. Those are not published here, as I want to keep people's privacy. This is just a personal collection.
